The line art, and one way of colouring it — using the 12 colours below.

What is on the page

Two young astronauts in soft-shouldered suits walk across the lunar surface, both smiling behind their helmet visors. Behind them stands a domed habitat with a ribbed roof, a dish antenna, a porch light and a short flight of steps, joined to a smaller dome by a tunnel. Two angled solar panels catch light to the right, and a six-wheeled rover with its own antenna waits beside them. The ground is scattered with rocks and craters, one of them large in the foreground, and Earth hangs in a starry sky.

Colouring it

Large, open shapes — good for younger hands.

Nearly all the linework is clean and geometric, which makes this the easiest page in the set to keep tidy. The grey moon and the white suits leave a lot of restraint, so the colour has to come from somewhere chosen: Earth's oceans, the solar panels, a bright stripe on each suit. Stars can be left white or given a single warm tone.

The palette

Every page in Imagine & Color ships with a palette chosen for that drawing. These are the 12 colours for Moon Camp, with the names they carry in the app — useful whether you are colouring on an iPad or matching pencils on paper.
